The quick and easy way to become a good thinker is to think: "on the one hand, but on the other hand." The goal is to make this second nature. The foundation comprises three ideas: 1) No human statement is complete in itself, 2) There is always something more that can be said, and, 3) It is always possible that I might be wrong.
